Current
Conditions and Updates
|
- Big snows have come to southern Wyoming this spring!
- In addition to
the pine beetle epidemic of the last decade, the high country now shows
the widespread effect of the spruce beetle. Be aware of dead trees,
especially in high winds. While crews have maintained many trails, you
may encounter deadfall on some routes -- this is mostly an issue for
stock animals.
- The Forest Service
visitor center on the east side of the Medicine Bow Range on HWY 130
is closed for reconstruction. As an alternative, you can stop by the
Forest Service offices in Laramie, Saratoga, or the visitor center on
the west side of the range (also on HWY 130).
